I use Thunderbird on both a Windows PC and an Android smartphone (Thunderbird 8.2) in order to manage several email accounts of mine.

The latter has been showing me for a while that the password for one of the accounts is incorrect. However, I see no way to change it. When I click "Parameters", I see three groups of parameters (I am translating from the French) "General parameters", "Accounts", "Backup" (exporting/importing parameters), "Other". In none there is any mention of passwords.

How do I go about doing that?

Thanks, Michael

1. "Settings" > "Accounts" section > tap the account you want to configure.

2. "Fetching mail" > "Incoming server".

2.1. If "Authentication" is "Normal password": change the password in "Password" > tap "Next".

2.2. If "Authentication" is "OAuth 2.0": tap "Next" > (I haven't tested it, but I think what will happen is:) you will be asked to log in to your email account. Use your username and new password to log in.

3. Repeat step 1.

4. "Sending mail" > "Outgoing server".

4.1. If "Authentication" is "Normal password": repeat step 2.1.

4.2. If "Authentication" is "OAuth 2.0": repeat step 2.2.
