after a recent upgrade (91.10.1) Thunderbird no longer has the question about remote content on the email view page. The one with options like show all remote from _ or show only remote content from _. Stilll has the exception section in Settings. Emails show embedded content on webmail. What gives?

I am not understanding the issue. If the box is unchecked, there is a message at top of message view window.

Thanks for your response. I hadn't thought to uncheck the "show remote content" box.

I did uncheck it and that works for most emails with embedded content, but not from comics@mycomicspage.com. Emails from this source show embedded content in webmail, but not the message/options in the message view window. I did get the "option" message, but no images. I tried a couple options to no avail, and the "option" bar disappeared. So I went back to Preferences and removed all the 'comics' urls. The "option" bar returned but no embedded images.

I contacted GoComics but they say if the images are there in webmail, then it must be my client. Thunderbird 91.10.0 (32-bit). My computer is 64-bit and most software running is 64-bit, so I don't know why TB chooses 32-bit, if that matters.

If the messages are embedded, it is not remote content. Remote content is when the messages remain on the server and your email contains a link to it.

On your other issue, I don't know TB's history with you, but if you had transferred from a 32-bit computer, TB may have just continued that. You could upgrade to the 64-bit version from the URL of thunderbird dot net.
