New Android download, refuses to log me in

taylornyancey

I have Firefox as my default browser on my current phone, and wanted to do the same with my newer phone (OnePlus 5T). After downloading the app, I try to log in via Sync. I have 2 emails with different associated accounts, but I'm sure to input the right stuff for the account I wanted into. It accepts my email (same as here) and password and emails me an authentication code. When I put the code in and press continue, however, it tells me that I have the wrong password and displays the other email address, the one I wasn't logging into. The code wasn't sent to that email, it was sent to the one I was trying to log into. It does this every time I put a code in.

Hi

To clarify:

You have two Firefox Accounts, "A" and "B" with separate email addresses.

When you sign into "A", the code is sent to the email address for "A" but you are denied access.

When this happens, the address for "B" is displayed.

Where is this email address displayed?

That's right. When I put the code in and click "Continue", the browser goes back to the Sign In page, displaying the email address for "B" instead of "A".

Had you tried the "B" email address beforehand?

I am struggling to see how a device would know an address you had not entered into it.

Not to my browser, but I am logged into both Gmails. I assumed it got the other email from that.
