I have thunderbird 68.12.0 – 64 bit on linix desktop. I see the Mail, Calendar, Cardbook, Toolbars reset to default every so often. Also some other small bugs like Today Pane sometime’ s locks in half open status I am unable to drag and open further so I need to close and reopen. Also some other small window sizing issue’ s when I can’ t resize the main window to less then full size. Again I need to restart thunderbird. This is a pretty fresh install but this happened on previous version as well though this seem’ s to be a bit worse then others. I don' t have these issues on windows os. Any suggestion’ s? Many Thanks.

Have you tried this:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • click on 'Restart with addons disabled'

A new small window opens.

  • Select 'Reset toolbars and controls'
  • click on 'Make changes and Restart' button

Solved this on my own I hope;

Also some corrupt session files cleared out as well.

Sadly this didn't work i wanted to clarify for anyone else that comes along with the issue. TB78 I find much improved and a pleasure to use despite some others' dislikes however the ever-changing toolbar has broken me so I am raising the white flag on TB use. This has been an issue on 68 as well. Never windows just linux. Unfortunate.

I switched to a different suite of programs before I saw this mail but i went back and made the change anyways and have been opening and closing the program a few times throughout the day when I remember. It looks like the changes are saving. Thanks.
