After performing a search in landscape mode, clicking through on a search result and returning to the search results page using the back arrow the results page is shifted right, zoomed in and partially off the screen to the right. Doesn’t happen in portrait mode. Using iPad Pro so landscape mode is most desirable.

It could be specific to the viewport on the iPad Pro. I haven't seen this issue on a iPad.

Did you check with Safari?

The viewport is the visible area of a web page. It varies with the device and needs to optimise for different screen sites.

Did you try to rotate the iPad Pro from landscape mode to portrait mode and back to landscape mode? Does it auto adjust?
