Spellchecker not working correctly
With the new Thunderbird version 60.3.0 whenever I try to send a message after clicking the SEND button the spellchecker pops up but it's empty. No misspelled words and no suggestions. As soon as the CLOSE button is pressed the email is sent and all the words are correct, so why is the spellchecker appearing at all?

Although not the correct anser it did put me in the right direction.
The problem was that there wasn't a dictionary installed. I guess the upgrade must have deleted the previous one in use. So downloaded a GB dictionary and voilà , problem solved.

Perhaps shell check when you click send it selected in options.
Options > Composition > Spelling.
