automatic bcc to my sending email does not work
I have my email account set to automatically bcc my account when I send emails. This has wprked fine for me for years. Now, the "To:" emails are sent, but I don't receive the "Bcc:" to my account any more. The problem started happening about 10 days ago. I have tried running in safe mode and the problem persists. I am running Thunderbird 52.9.1 (32 bit) on Windows 10 Professional.

Hi, Matt;
Yes, I have asked Telus and they "can't find a problem with my email", even through their native webmail. Their native webmail exhibits the same symptoms as I encounter in Thunderbird, so I don't think this is a Thunderbird issue.
Today, the bcc to myself is again working, so I'm not going to waste my/your time on investigating this issue any further. I'll monitor the situation, and hopefully Telus can get their act in gear!

Who is the email provider?
Some, notably gmail, don't support "send to self" messages. I guess they reason that you have a copy in the Sent folder so why do you need any more copies? If I felt compelled to send myself a copy, I'd just send it to a different personal email address.
Maybe your email provider used to allow "send to self" and have recently changed their policy.
Has anything else changed at your end? Has Thunderbird updated recently?
Zenos, thanks for your quick reply.
My email provider is Telus in Alberta, Canada. Thunderbird was recently updated, but I can't confirm that the issue started around that date.
Anyway, this issue has gotten more confusing. The bcc to myself now works with no updates to Thunderbird and no other changes to my system. However, I just sent an email to myself and bcc'd several other people. The email shows in my Sent folder, but has not appeared in my Inbox. Closing and restarting Thunderbird does not fix this issue. More poking around to do, but very strange behaviour!
This issue gets more erratic and confusing by the day. I thought the problem had disappeared because Thunderbird was acting "normally" ( bcc to myself and sending to myself ) were both working for a couple of days.
Today, neither bcc to myself or send to myself works. In both cases, the message shows in my Sent folder but does not appear in my Inbox. When I subsequently log directly into my webmail, the test messages do not appear in my Inbox there, either.
Any ideas?
Have you asked telus where the mail you are sending has gone?

Just a suggestion, create a GMX account and send your BCC mails there. Then you are eliminating the telus receiving part of the equation and you might see a better behaviors.
If that works you might want to move you mail to GMX, they offer a free mail service that I have found very "standard" nothing odd and being bound by German privacy laws they tend to be less intrusive that their US regulated brethren.
