Yep, they indicate frames, or a table, or text or picture boxes. If you're trying to insert or move text, they are very valuable in helping decide where it is, and what it is bound to; this can be important if the signature is viewed in an narrow display (smartphone?) where some re-wrapping may occur.

People often complain about these frames, but I wonder how well users would cope if these borders were not shown.
