I backed up my MSG rules folder on old PC and then moved them into new Tbird folder on Windows 10 machine. I see the list of rules. Do I have to manually put in the folders which the emails should go to or is it done automatically.?

Thank you for quick reply. If I deleted the rules and copy the entire profile folder, would that bring all emails, address book and rules together? tks

Close Thunderbird before modifying anything in Profile folders.

Backup: Copy the 'Contents' (all files and folders) in the 'Profile name' folder. Paste them into the current 'Profile name' folder overwriting all the files and folders.

this is location: C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\<Profile name>\

'Profile name' folder by default is 'xxxxxxx.default' where the x's are letters and numbers.

This copies all preferences, mail accounts, address books, filters, etc etc.
