I have already set up 5 subfolders to organise emails being received. I have setup message filters to sort the emails as they come in and move them to the correct subfolder. That is working well. However, I find that I cannot add another subfolder. It goes through the motions and asks me for a name for the subfolder but it doesn't create it. Is 5 the limit? The server type is an IMAP Mail Server.

Are these five side-by-side, or nested five deep?

I myself have several examples of many more than five alongside each other.

I do seem to recall another discussion that suggested there may be a limit on the depth of nested folders.

Hi Zenos. The folders are not nested. They are just subfolders of the Inbox

You should check with your email provider whether there are any limits imposed by the server. Personally I would not create subfolders underneath Inbox in the first place.

It's obligatory on some servers (e.g. outlook365, roundcube). But if that's the case you wouldn't expect such a restrictive limit.
