I'm using portable Thunderbird. How can I create a filter such that it will run on a specific computer (based on computer name) ?

I'm using portable Thunderbird.

There are some filters that I want to run only on a specific computer. Currently, I have to disable these filter every time I copy Thunderbird from one computer to another. I'm wondering, how can I create a filter such that it will run on a specific computer based on computer name (for example) ?

Thanks, Oren

Message filters are based upon account name only. The file that contains all the Message filter for a specific account are located within that mail account name. It is called msgFilterRules.dat

Pop mail accounts: ....Profiles\<Profile name>\ Mail >mail account name Imap mail account: ....Profiles\<Profile name>\ImapMail >mail account name

Currently you probably copy paste the profile and allow to overwrite everything, so updating the entire profile on specific computer. But you could choose not to overwrite the msgFilterRules.dat and so it remains unchanged as set up for that specific computer. OR ...... .....before copy pasting profile to specific computer, you have previously copy pasted the msgFilterRules.dat of mail account on specific computer to specific computer desktop as a backup sort of file. then after copy pasting profile to specific computer, then copy paste the 'backup' msgFilterRules.dat from desktop into updated mail accounts.
