The 'from' line on my emails is incorrect, how do I put my correct email address there?

Thunderbird was set up for me by someone else but instead of my e-mail address appearing in the 'From' line on emails.. he has put my username which is used to identify me to my server..zen. This is causing problems with recipients who think my email is junk..or in the case of my energy supplier, won't deal with me by email as they say that the address does not correspond with the one that they have on their files. All I want to do is to make my correct e-mail address appear in the From line!

That's a bit of a puzzle; the account needs the email address to get messages, and one of your incoming accounts will be used as the "from:" address.

However, go to the application menu, hover over Options and when a pop-up shows, select Account Settings.

Look through each account and see if you can spot the inappropriate entry.
