Can I add a new contact to a personal email list in my address book?
I can add the email address of the main account, but can't add it to the specific sub-account. Can that be done?

I don't understand what you're trying to achieve. Please explain in more detail.
When I click on the 'Address Book' tab it brings up All Address Books Under that tab is the Personal Address Book tab. Under that tab I have several tabs with select information. How can I add a new email address to these? I tried to click on the select info I wanted to add it to and then clicked on the New Contact tab, but the email was added to the Personal Address Book, not the select info list.
Well, there are no tabs in the main Address Book window.
Are you using a non-English version of Thunderbird? You are using some unusual terminology, but I'm wondering if that's a difficulty with translation.
Your "select info" is, I imagine, a Mailing List. A Mailing List can only hold Contacts from its parent address book. You can't add new Contacts to a Mailing List - well you can, but it also adds them to the parent address book.
Add the new Contact to the address book first, then add it to the Mailing List.
How to add to a Mailing List?
- You can double-click the List, or select its Properties, and then type in the Contact to be added. An auto-complete function will offer matches from the address book.
- Or you can drag and drop a Contact onto the Mailing List's icon.
