I run on Windows 7. In the FAQ I couldn't read how I was to respond, because it was again in Russian ( or something like it). I can't navigate because my so-called bookmarks appear to be written in Russian so I don't even know which is the bookmarks tab in the menu. Please help. My inbox also seems to be written in Russian.

Try disabling your Yandex Elements extension. I've seen a problem a little like this before.

Alan,

Thanks for your reply. I don't know what the Yandex Elements extension is, unless I know what the icon looks like or if the box that expands and gives me a message in English when I put my cursor on it. Sorry I don't know more. I'm a little limited in my computer literacy.

This is sounding a lot more serious than I expected. One of the expert contributors might take you through a complete re-install but there might be another way to eliminate the Russian(if that is what it is). You could start, though, by disabling/removing Yandex. Type about:addons in the URL(Location) Bar. This should show the various sub-headings - Get Add-ons, Extensions etc. In Extensions look for Yandex and disable/remove it. Good luck.

I went to control panel and uninstalled firefox and then reinstalled firefox from the website and problem returned. I also tried to remove Yandex from extensions and problem remains.
