How can I configure Firefox to use fonts that are in a custom directory?

jeporavorãve

I have some fonts that I want to use as my defaults for Firefox, but I want to use font files that are located in Firefox's installation directory or in Dropbox rather than the system font directory.

You would have to install the fonts in the .fonts folder (~/.fonts) in your home directory if you do not want to use the global font directory (/usr/share/fonts).

Well I want to have Firefox as a portable installation, I'm currently using Firefox Developer Edition. I would also like a solution that works on Windows as well.
