Certain websites aren't loading properly after all troubleshooting tips have been followed?

Metservice, stumbleupon and a few other sites aren't loading properly. Metservice says the connection has timed out, all the other sites just look weird. I've followed all the troubleshooting tips, tried safe mode, scanned for viruses etc, and it still hasn't helped. I even tried re-installing firefox, and it hasn't helped. My flatmate also uses firefox, and she can access all these sites okay.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
