Is there an option to go back to the regular menu bar so I don't have to select from the tab. Not happy at all with the new interface

I would like to know if I can restore the old interface. I don't like it, and rather select from a a menu instead of going to a tab to get the old menu options. I only use Firefox and not fond at all of the other browsers. Although I am not happy with the one change, It still beats the other browsers so far.

Click on the Firefox icon and then:

View > Toolbars and CHECK the Menu Bar.

Or you can also use this add-on:

The above instructions provide a proper path, but only if you've *already* solved your problem. 8-\

What you want is this:

Firefox > Options > Menu Bar

Enjoy!

I don't understand what do you mean. If you have already solved the problem, how come the poster couldn't see the Menu Bar?

And "Firefox > Options > Menu Bar" --

You'll need to go to Tools, then Options, there's no Menu Bar option there. So could you explain how did you get to the Menu Bar from "Options"?

Here are my own tips to make FF4 look like the previous version.

  • Right click a blank part of the tab bar and click "Tabs on top" to remove the checkmark. Tabs will subsequently reappear below the search bar.

  • Repeat the same steps, but click the top one called "Menu bar". This will reinstate the text links at the top.

  • To rearrange the layout, repeat the same steps again and choose "Customize". A panel will open and while that remains onscreen, you can move elements like toolbars, buttons etc around and place them anywhere you wish. You can also drag anything you don't like into that panel and add anything you want by dragging it out of there.

  • To replace the status bar at the foot of the page, install this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

See screenshot. Both top and bottom views are FF4.

Hey guys. thanks! Everything is fixed good enough, I was having bad day and then Firefox changed in the midst of it all and I was venting instead of taking a closer look on how to correct things. I have my menu back and moved the tabs down. Thanks again for the fast help everyone.
