Hello. Since I last updated my Mozilla Firefox browser all my bookmarks have disappeared. I have looked for the places.sqlite folder but was unable to find it. Tried the option where from bookmark toolbar I have selected restore bookmarks or something like that. Still none of it was succesful. Please help me with this problem. Thanks!

Hi RenegadeWanderer, sorry to hear about this problem.

As the first step, could you shut down and restart Windows? Some users are having problems with locked files after updates and this should clear the locks.

If that doesn't help...

Q1: Are you getting the error message discussed in the following article:

Fix "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" error message

Q2: Do you get any error message when trying to restore a backup using that feature in the Library window?

Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

Q3: Can you add new bookmarks or is that broken, too?

Q4: Do you see a new folder on your desktop named Old Firefox Data?

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
