I trying to save a websites username but not the password, but I cannot find the setting. Please show me where. If firefox doesn't have it, can you explain why? For convenience I would like the username to be saved for each website I visit, but for security I don't want the password to be saved. It seems you can only save both or neither, can you get someone to fix this... This is kind of a security risk btw.

Hi, please Copy/Paste about:preferences#privacy to the Address Bar and Enter You are right there when page opens. Put a check mark in the box to ask to save passwords

Note some sites do not offer up the option.

You can also use these : https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/search/?platform=windows&q=Pasword%20Manager

If the above does not help, use a form-filler to enter the username.

There is no setting for that. It's both username & password, or nothing.

Perhaps an external Password Manager would be better for you? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=Password+Manager

But installing an extension poses its own security risks depending upon the individual "Password Manager".
