Contacts sidebar list refresh

TB 45.0 on Windows.

Since upgrading from 38.1, selecting a different address book in the Write window (F9) Contacts Sidebar will not refresh the contact list. There is a workaround: the list will refresh if you begin a search in the new book and then erase the search term.

It appears to be related to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=715573 and I have added to that bug report.

I don't see that behavior here. Can you try to start Thunderbird in safe mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird

Hi,

Starting in safe mode didn't fix the problem. I checked all the extensions and tried safe mode before posting. I have five Windows 7 machines here that all are displaying the same behavior.

The machines have different users and the only Contact related extension they had in common was AddExpandedList 1.1 [the latest version]. AddExpandedList does interact with the Contacts sidebar and the Address book, however it seems to no longer work with TB 45. I have since uninstalled it from all the machines, but the sidebar still is misbehaving.

The bug report I cited involves refresh of the Contacts list in the sidebar [I confirmed that I also see the reported behavior] ... so on the hunch that my problem is related, I added a comment explaining what I am seeing.
