when i hover over a hyperlink it will not preview in status bar anymore
I have recently upgraded as prompted by Firefox. I now have no status bar. When I hover over a link I no longer get a preview on the status bar to the address where the link would send me. How can I fix this?

From which Firefox version did you update?
Current Firefox versions no longer have the status bar and have the Add-on bar instead to be used by extensions.
Information about the link is shown in a pop-up at the bottom of the Firefox window when you hover a link.
Don't you get this pop-up?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

You can look at this extension:
- Status-4-Evar: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

I am also having this issue. I'm running Firefox 29.0.1 and have status-4-evar (enabled and otherwise working normally). When I start Firefox in safe mode, the url will show at the bottom of the screen in a pop-up. Thanks!
There is a Status-4-Evar support thread over here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=2001965
Thank you, that's exactly where the answer was. In case anyone else comes here with the same issue, the status text for some reason disappeared from the toolbar.
