I've noticed that different web pages display non-alpha characters. The above example was on Amanzon; other pages on discovery channel pages.

I tried various character encoding options, Unicode changed the character to a black diamond with a ? character. Maybe this is what was intended?? BTW the instructions on the page you mentioned seem to be way out of date for the current version of FireFox (v27)

Make sure that you have selected the correct encoding (possibly Unicode (UTF-8)) for those pages.

  • Firefox > Web Developer > Character Encoding
  • View > Character Encoding

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

Does it help if you switch the encoding to Unicode like I suggested above?
