hello ffr33, please try to reset firefox and see if this can address the issue (you also have 2 malicious extensions installed in your profile folder - downloadterms & mixidj as well as a user.js file that is used to overwrite your custom settings)...

I've reset Firefox after removing the 2 malicious extensions. The game starts OK but after about 15 seconds of play the games exits to the it's login/out page. Can we try something more? Thanks, Rich

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.

  1. Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
  2. After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
  3. Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    • Windows:
      • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    • Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
    • Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
  4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    1. Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
    2. Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

Please report back to see if this helped you!

I can enter the game OK, but after a few seconds I'm automatically forced out of the game. I did delete the "install" file in the Mozilla folder. What else can I try?

Hello,

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.

You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform these steps:

  • Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
  • In the Firefox options window click the Advanced tab, then select "General".
  • In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
  • Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems

Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Hello,

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.

(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)

  • You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.

Thank you.

I tried Fox in safe mode and I got in this loop that wanted to keep loading the extension. Also I tried the game using IE and got the same result... So I'm thinking I've got a different problem. Resolution? But I haven't changed anything reso wise. The only change I made was to go to FF v. 21... Hmmmmm Ideas???? Thanks for the help... Rich

In case the problem is that the game requires a plugin and the plugin is "missing", maybe it's this...

Firefox can find plugins in several locations, but Firefox 21 changed the location of the "shared" plugin folder so some plugins have become invisible to Firefox. As a test, you can change a Firefox preference so that Firefox also checks the old location. You would do this individually in each profile you create. Here's how:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the filter box, type or paste plugins and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click plugins.load_appdir_plugins to switch its value from false to true.

This will take effect after you restart Firefox.

Oh, same problem in IE. So more generally:

  • Does the game use Flash? Flash local storage objects may be shared between browsers. That storage can be cleared, but that could have a detrimental effect on your game settings if the site doesn't maintain a copy of everything in your local storage. It might make sense to check with the site on whether they recommend clearing Flash local storage.
  • Does your security software block domains the game might want to access? Many sites use secondary servers to improve performance, and filtering software may occasionally need to be updated when sites add new hosts.
  • Does your security/privacy software block cookies, the referring domain, or any other normal browser data? If so, you may need to create an exception for this site.

If you get redirected to the login page then this usually indicates a problem with cookies that get lost or corrupted.
If you get this problem in other browser as well then you should check your security software (firewall, anti-virus).

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

I restarted in SAFE mode and the BFP4F quit running before the game finished getting started.
