Hello, I am using Firefox 19.0 on Mac OS X 10.6.8. Neither 'clear list' nor 'remove from list' (after highlighting) worK. I do not think I ever had this problem before updating. Is the problem solved, or should I go back to a previous version !? Also, I have added Adblock, each time I open a Firefox page, I get a pop up advertisement. If needed, I can provide a screen shot. This did not happen before either.

I read the news, I saw the light, I trashed the downloads.sqlite file (now grinning insultingly from the trash can!). As I said before, and I realise that much of FF is user-led, how come you people out there who are wondrously geekily intelligent (can you hear the sarcasm actually dripping off the walls and ceiling?) give us a hand here? I doesn't sound like nuclear science, but then, I could be wrong! All best, TGIF !

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode as this can cause this issue in Firefox 19.

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy: Use custom settings for history
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"

HI ! Did that (previous post), saw the film and the musical, bought the T-shirt....FF still messing about. I have installed Aurora again (!) and I will see where that takes me. Also, I used to like FF for the Adblock add-on module, but now I see it doesn't work anymore, there's not much point, back to Safari? Actually I kept the 3 in the dock (Safari,Chrome andFF), ended up by hating Chrome, dissatisfied by Safari because the was no Adblocker, and now this infuriation! Old guys use their computers a lot, small problems become big problems because we have more time to do less. Hey-ho, what's it all about ? Going to have to climb the mountain again, see the old guy and ask him what the meaning of life is! (but Monty Python alreadfy answered that!). Have a great week-end! ;-))
