I can load Washington post -> entertainment -> puzzles -> Sunday Puzzle. but then loading stalls at URL http://games.washingtonpost.com/games/sunday-crossword/sunday-crossword.aspx leaving a screen with an empty progress bar.

That is a Flash application.

I see that you have an old Flash 10.3 version installed.

Did you downgrade to that version because of problems with the Flash 11.4 or 11.3 player?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
