hello 123, is it possible to open up firefox in safe mode & reset the browser on this occasion (this will keep your bookmarks & passwords)? Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode
i tried safe mode and rest but it always the same thing, i tired opening but it just stops working and i cant even press any buttons or go to any sites, it is always not responding.
does it work when you create a new profile?
what do you mean by "create a new profile"?
please click on it in my prior reply, it contains a link to a page with background & instructions for the profile manager.
yeah, i tired it still does the same thing :(
in this case please also do a full scan of your system with your security software already in place & with a second program like the free version of malwarebytes.
im currently using google chrome and im waiting for a new uptate for mozilla firefox since all of this solutions are not working :(
Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that works.
It's not my computer since I just built it last week
is there a solution or do we have to wait for the new update?
I've found the problem for me, at least.
Vuze Remote Toolbar. Even though I wasn't using it, removing it seems to have cured this problem.
I got exactly the same problem on my FF 15.0.1. It happened overnight somehow. Yesterday I was still able to use FF for my daily work but today I just can't open anything. I uninstalled the FF with all personal data wiped off. Then I downloaded a fresh copy and reinstalled. Didn't import anything from any other browsers. Then the problem stays. I removed all the Extensions and disabled all the Add-Ons. The problem still stays. Any other browsers on my system, e.g. IE 8 and Chrome, work perfectly fine.
Started having a similar problem on a freshly-imaged corporate PC where we do not have local admin and have to install Firefox inside the local Windows profile directory. Some people have the problem, others don't. Only with certain sites, but seems to be most sites. When it hangs on a site, it does so immediately, and you can't even X out of the window - you have to kill the task. Same in safe mode.
I tried uninstalling, rebooting, deleting %userprofile%\appdata\local\Mozilla and \Mozilla Firefox, reinstalling, and no go, no matter whether I choose to import from IE or not.
Also, have the same issue with Firefox at home on a separate Windows box starting at about the same time as I and a couple users here noticed this. Would seem like an update.
