Firefox crashes when I remove the "Test Pilot" message
Since I rebooted my PC (IBM thinkpad T43 running windows XP), Firefox sticks a message on the screen, heading 'New Test Pilot Study' with the message 'The Test Pilot "Firefox Desktop Heatmap 2012" is about to begin' I cannot get rid of this message. If I click on the red X to close, or the 'More Info' message Firefox crashes, and I get the "We're sorry, Firefox has a problem and crashed". How can I clear this message without crashing?. Thanks for the info, John

Yesterday I received an email informing me the latest Firefox beta was ready. I have it running now (version 13.0b1), and can confirm that this has resolved the problem. I no longer get the message that was obscuring the corner of the screen. Thanks for the supremely fast response.. I don't get that speed of response on products I pay a support contract on! - Cheers, John

I have surmounted this problem by changing from the 'beta' channel to the 'release' channel, so it is no longer causing me grief. I will wait until this problem gets resolved, then go back to the fun-channel. - John
Hi,
Thanks for testing beta and posting this feedback! As an FYI, the upcoming EOL of Firefox on Windows XP is planned for June. See Firefox no longer works with some versions of Windows XP for upgrade options.
Thanks, Michelle
Thanks for the advice. I have checked my setup, and I am on service pack 3 as recommended. So I will stay with the release channel until a new beta version comes out. Cheers, John
