Memory leak during Microsoft Teams calls
I’m using the latest stable Firefox package from the official Mozilla repository for Ubuntu, on a system with 32GB of RAM.
I’m also using Microsoft Teams for work calls, in the browser (because Linux) and I notice that Ubuntu has killed the FF process twice last week because it was using too much memory - see attached image. I’ve only had 4 or 5 Teams calls last week so this isn’t a great success rate. It seems that after half an hour or so, FF has hogged so much memory that the OS feels the need to kill it.
If this is a known issue: are there any known workarounds?
If this is not a known issue :Can I help by providing troubleshooting data? How?
Thanks in advance!

I don't see anything offhand at bugzil.la/teams linked from that meta timeline.
There are several distinct Teams products, depending on the domain used. Is this the *.cloud.microsoft version?
Might be worth opening a bug, you'd eventually be instructed to capture some profiles or logs in case the engineers can't reproduce the same.
Thanks for the response. All I can see on the address bar is teams.microsoft.com/v2/
Not sure if this helps. The “join” URL is also teams.microsoft.com/meet/xxxxxxx
Unless there is anything else that can be done here, I will look up the instructions for how to file a bug and do so.
I’ve recently moved my wife’s laptop (which she also uses for work calls on Teams) from Windows to Linux, therefore am very interested in having a decent Teams experience in Firefox. Thanks again for the help.
Yes, this is the "professional" version that's better supported from MS–side, this definitely should be working well — so having a bug tracked would help the engineers get in touch with you if they can't reproduce right away and look into some logging options.
Some introduction to that is covered in:
