Suddenly to download emails, Thunderbird sayw it can't find my "Inbox" folder. ?? (locked duplicate)

I've been using TB for many years, and without warning, when it tries to down load my mail from the Proton mail server, it says it can't find the folder "Inbox". I've tried to "repair" that folder a couple times unsuccessfully. I've restarted the TB program a couple times, but nothing changes. The error shows up on the bottom "instruction line". I've gone through all my settings and find nothing amiss. Not sure where to go from here. -- Just noticed that I had about 80 emails in that Inbox folder that are now missing completely. Normally, I move read emails to there respective folders, and leave important ones in the Inbox for followup. One significant note here, is I'm still using Win 7 premium. So far it hasn't been a problem. Thanks a bunch, Gerald

Sounds more like a problem with Proton, or with your local Proton Mail Bridge installation. Make sure to check that.

I did explore Proton bridge extensively, The thing that re-inforced my leaning to TB, is that each time TB makes a call to Proton, TB error message (see my post) is that TB doesn't recognize the folder name of "Inbox". If it hadn't been working flawlessly for so long, I would had suspected the discrepancy in the capitalization difference. But even so, I have no idea how to change that in either TB or proton bridge. I'm not aware of any updates in either TB or Proton bridge recently. What are your thoughts about messing with TB protocols. (forget the proper nomenclature of that file name)

I do have a ToDoBackup from a few days before all this happened, but there are so many files in the TB folder, I'd have to do some searching, but I DID do a full backup restore (30 hours) with no change. Maybe that's why you suggest pursuing Proton Bridge. ? They have been pretty helpful in the past.

When things break, I always try to find the "break", but this has me stumped. Gshantz
