Is there anyplace that shows how to use what the new release says on the 146.0. I got the message below when viewing new options in 146.0, but going to settings, sync just wants me to sign in and do a cloud backup.

Doesn't sound like what is in message below that I got after updating to 146.0. From what I found looking around, you are suppose to go to setting, sync, click on backup and choose location. There is no option backup, just an option to sign on. Below is message I got when checking what is in update 146.0:

Windows 10 users can now automatically protect their passwords, bookmarks, and more by turning on backup in Firefox. Your browsing data is saved daily on your device and can be encrypted with a password When you set up a fresh install of Firefox on any operating system for a new device or your current one, you can restore from this backup and pick up right where you left off. This feature is currently available on Windows devices and will be coming to other operating systems soon.

Hi Jer,

As mentioned in the release notes, this feature is being introduced to the Firefox user base through a progressive rollout. Most likely, it's just not available for you yet (but I hope that this will change soon!).

I guess we will see, it says in my release notice "This feature is currently available on Windows devices"? It does say then after that "will be coming to other operating systems soon". I am on a Windows 10 device 64 bit all software current, seems it should be on here. Oh well, I gotten along without it for years by doing my own backups. But it does seem it would be easier to restore to new computer with their method, right now I would just use certain files from within my roaming profile to restore.

I was referring to the badge at the right, but I agree that the wording is confusing... Sorry for that.

I'll mark my reply above as the solution to highlight it for other users looking for an answer. Since the feature is far from being rolled out to the whole user base, I believe it's the best we can do here.

Okay I see it now! Never would have thought to look over at the graphics/badge. I could blame it on I just had cataract surgery, but I still wouldn't have noticed.

Thanks Jer
