Cookies and Site Data

Why is "Delete cookies and Site Data when Firefox is closed" checked and grayed out for me?

Everytime I open the FF browser I have to relog into everything, I didn't change any settings either, it just started doing this....

Could you scroll down the Settings page, Privacy & Security panel, to the History section. What do you see here?

  • Firefox will: Remember history => this is the normal setting
  • Firefox will: Use custom settings for history => what are the detailed settings here?
  • Firefox will: Never remember history => this invokes automatic private browsing, so everything is cleared when Firefox closes; you need to change this to custom and un-check the box for "Always use private browsing mode"
