Search Doesn't Work From the Address Bar
The latest version v129.0.1 for Windows 10 won't do a search from the address bar or go to an entered URL. It's working intermittently.

An additional piece of information. On the pages that don't perform a search, clicking on hyperlinks doesn't work either.
Can you enter "about:profiles" in the address bar, create a new profile and test it there? Thanks.

It works by doing that, but the problem is intermittent, so I don't know whether it fixes it. I would have to totally recustomise by browser however if that's the workaround. Not sure whether existing settings can be copied to the new profile?
Search works from the address bar with the search engine specified as default in settings. It is clicking a search engine in the search box that doesn't work when I don't want to use the default. Note you have to customize the toolbar to get the search box. It does not show by default.
RE: Windows 10. I rechecked with 129.0.2 64 bit. The address bar search works with the default but now the search box no longer works so this is now an issue in windows 10 as well.
Also the automatic install failed with a submodule level error and I had to uninstall and download from Firefox website to get it to work at all.
New piece of information. With the search term in the address bar, clicking the arrow at the extreme right of the bar eventually generates a search if it's clicked maybe 4 or 5 times.
Do you have Avast/AVG?
There's also a long Avast forum thread about it here:
