Firefox upgraded to 104.0.2 and reset everything. How can I get back to where I was this morning?
I never saw a prompt or anything but when I tried to open Firefox this morning it updated to 104.0.2 64 bit and did a complete reset. Lost plugins, extensions, and all settings. (I do have my bookmarks, and I never use Firefox for passwords.)
I have a backup program, so I might be able to restore if I knew what files.
Help would be appreciated.

You may have to reinstall extensions. Plug-ins should be there. You seem not to have lost any data recoverable from an old profile.

My first reaction was the links did not help. But then I discovered the data was buried inside the Profile in a couple of json files: Addons.json, extensions.json
At least now I have enough info to be able to try to find the ones I had, or a replacement.
I'm a software developer, and I've worked with JSON files. I don't see how a non-programmer could recover from this. As is, it is enough to make me want to abandon firefox after many years.
I don't want to turn off Auto updates, but I think I will. This was a disaster.
I keep a record of add-ons I install, including links to their pages on the add-ons site.
You can use a policies.json file to make updates manual only (remove the blank space in the second link).

I hate the update troubles and huge waste of time. Are Addons a thing of the past, too with v. 104? Or is there a way to regain addons?
