Recent crashing & unexpected behavior
For the past few weeks I've been receiving numerous firefox crash reports & also when trying to open firefox an error indication that firefox is already open. I've never had this problem with firefox in the past, and have been an avid firefox user for many many years.
This occurred on my old desktop computer which died this week & is also occurring with my brand new, out of the box HP laptop computer (with ALL the windows updates and HP updates installed); The old computer used Windows 10 Pro, the new computer uses Windows 10 Home.
My old computer used just the windows defender for protection, but my new laptop comes with a 1 month trial of McAfee which I am using until the trial expires.
Firefox is (and was) my default web browser. The software and updates for firefox have always come from your official website and in a timely manner.
Could you please look into and resolve this issue?

That crash is fixed in version 101.0.1.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted/Unsubmitted Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Only one such report on my new computer, and my old computer died so cannot obtain the information from it, but here it is: Also an FYI, Microsoft Windows is updating me to Windows 11 today (it's downloading it right now). But still, the problem with firefox is important enough to continue searching for a fix... for anyone one else that is affected and/or if I'm still affected by this unsettling behavior.

@TyDraniu Thank you. I downloaded, installed & ran a firefox update check before using the program; I hate how you're forced to use EDGE until you get your preferred web browser installed, don't you??
