UBlock Origin now blocks everything

I've had UBlock Origin installed on my PC laptop and working satisfactorily for a couple of years, but in the past week it's been blocking everything, including sites I visit frequently and trust like the New York Times, Washington Post and Amazon. Has something changed or updated in either the app or Firefox itself? Can someone advise me, in simple terms, if this can be fixed or if it would be easier for me just to give up on the app? The computer is six months old, uses Windows 10, hasn't been changed or updated recently. I've cleared the cache many times, haven't downloaded any new apps recently. Thanks.

You should contact uBlock support. For now, disable it when it causes trouble.

How did you identify uBlock Origin as the problem -- for example, if you disable it on the Add-ons page, everything works fine, and when you re-enable it, nothing will load?

uBlock Origin has a lot of settings, so perhaps something is set incorrectly. I wonder whether it has a way to "reset" back to its original settings and block lists so you can start fresh.

I'd like to contact them but when I tried I got to a very complicated connection with Github that seems to have been made for programmers; I also had trouble logging in and making an account with Github. Have any guidance on how to get in touch with them to ask a simple question?

I identified UBlock Origin as the problem because all of a sudden all kinds of reputable sites that I use regularly were being blocked so I'd go into UBlock and unblock them and then they'd work. I haven't changed settings on UBlock or Firefox, unless some update loaded that I'm not aware of. I couldn't even get into my bank account, although all these things worked fine in Chrome, where I don't have UBlock Origin.

uBlock Origin has some general rules and it also uses popular lists of things to block. However, I don't use it in my main profile so I'm not very familiar with the details on how to manage those.
