Hi- I've done everything to clear site data, but 9MB of Facebook data is still stored. I can't seem to get rid of it. Any tips?

Thanks, Aaron

Where/how is it stored?

Hi Fred,

Thanks for replying. First, I forgot to mention that I'm on a Mac mini, running Monterey 12.2

It's in Preferences/Privacy and Security/Cookies and Site Data. I clear everything and save the changes, then when I open it again, the 9MB of Facebook data is still there. I've quit the application and looked and it's still there.

Cheers, Aaron

Also restarted my computer. If there's other data there, it goes away just fine, but Facebook's doesn't.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.

The unwanted data, is this under cookies, cache . . .

Hi Fred,

There don't seem to be any cookies, just "Storage" of 9 MB. I'm trying to upload a screenshot of what I see before and after clearing data in the privacy settings, but Firefox won't upload the jpg for some reason. I let it go a full 4 minutes and I just got the grey spinning progress wheel.

Cheers, Aaron
