I am very happy with Firefox except when I log into my bank (citibank). 50% of the time I cannot use their web-sight due to it crashes the computer. I have to restart and use Safari to complete my banking task. Contacted the bank thru their online spokespeople and they indicated that the problem is Firefoxes and not the banks. I prefer firefox and would appreciate a solution if available to this problem.

You have the problem with no other website? Is it the computer crashing, or Firefox?

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?
