Why did you remove my profile and all my add-ons? Strike two. Once again Firefox screwed up.
Why did you remove my profile and all my add-ons? Strike two. Once again Firefox screwed up. A few months ago you did something similar and wiped out all my extensions. This time I lost all my bookmarks, passwords, and add-ons (extensions) and you set my Firefox to automatically update and a lot of other preferences were reset. One more like this and it will be strike 3 and I'll do whatever I can from then on to cause Firefox and its developers to wish they had not screwed up a browser that was working just fine.

Hi,
The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.
If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.
Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox? Look inside. Look for the folder with the latest creation date.

No "Old Firefox" or anything remotely like that is on my desktop, nor has anything changed on my desktop. If your assuming I'm using a Windows OS then that suggestion is fruitless.
Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
With considerable annoyance, I've reinstalled my of most vital add-on/extensions but other less vital extensions that are missing will take a lot longer to discover. Too bad Firefox screwed up FEBE so I can't back up my extensions any more. And I reset my preferences which Firefox surreptitiously set behind my back, such as automatic updates. I still don't have my theme back yet and I'll have to spend upwards of an hour searching for that again. Thanks Firefox you…. Why can't you just leave good enough alone?

Hi mellington, I'm also on macOS, but I've never experienced a loss of data. What you're experiencing is not normal behaviour. First, let's get your information back, then go through the process of backing up and restoring data, like add-ons.
Firefox stores your user data (bookmarks, add-ons, preferences, etc.) in a folder referred to as your profile folder. They are kept in the macOS ~/Library/Application Support/ directory. Right now, it sounds like Firefox started a new profile folder. Could you try the solutions in the following article, and see if it helps: Recover user data missing after Firefox update
Regarding backing up Firefox data, If you use Time Machine, then your Firefox data already included in that backup, and you can restore the folder mentioned earlier. It is recommended that you back up as much as you can, rather than using an add-on to backup only Firefox data. If you are not using Time Machine or some other system backup utility, you can use the instructions in the following article: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles
Finally, could you please read Mozilla Support rules and guidelines? I've had to edit out the profanity in your earlier posts, thanks.
I refused to upgrade past v54, and FEBE still works great. (I refuse to lose my add-ons) Warning: Using old versions of Firefox also poses a significant security risk.
