Webrender causes Youtube videos to be laggy

cor-el replied
naor2013

I opened a Youtube video and the video was laggy and unstable. I checked my Firefox settings and I saw I'm using Webrender because it's the default for some users now. When I opted-out of it using about:config and restarted the browser, the video was stable as usual. Let me know if it's a known issue or what info I can send to help with that issue.

Honestly, I haven't seen such an issue in this version.

You can create a new issue on github.

Try to set this pref to false on the about:config page.

  • gfx.webrender.picture-caching = false

Close and restart Firefox after modifying the setting for changes to take effect If this didn't help then modify this pref as well.

  • gfx.webrender.force-disabled = true

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
