Ok, for your Desktop. There should not be anything to do with email addresses as do not need one to download firefox.
Firefox.com mozilla.org https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
If uninstalling, please : uninstall then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 62.0.2 with a Full Version Installer
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Since can not get your bookmarks by back up they are in your Profile so can just grab a copy :
It is possible that your firewall or other security software blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox application. Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
