What FF version are we talking about? And how are you trying to send it as a email link?

I have the latest FF. When I now click on the email tab at top right, instead of going to my email list it now says, email a link to this page.

The built-in envelope icon is the Email Link feature. If you had an envelope icon that did something different before, perhaps that was added by an add-on?

The first time you use Email Link, it will ask whether you want to use a program on your computer to compose the message, or Gmail, or maybe another site. Unfortunately, not very many services are built-in; you may need to add your preferred webmail site if you use a webmail site.

Do you want to mention which one it is?

Hi jscher2000

I did in fact, just recently, add my email to the Link and it still does not do the same as it did before the new FF update. I use my email in outlook.

It should work with Office Outlook, the stand-alone application. But I don't know if there is a working URL for Outlook online.

Thanks for your replies to my query. I am able to send emails now, however, I am unable to access my contacts as I was before and will now have to re configure them. A tedious job : (.

I wonder if one of your add-ons stopped working? Firefox doesn't have any built-in features for working with contacts. Could you check your list of disabled extensions and see if you can find one that provided your email integration? Perhaps there's an update or replacement for it.

You can find the lists on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then on the right side, scroll to the bottom where you find disabled extensions on a gray background. Anything mail related here that needs to be re-enabled?

If there's nothing relevant there, scroll back to the top and see if you have a link to "Show legacy extensions". That leads to a panel of extensions that cannot run in Firefox 57+. Anything mail related here that needs to be replaced?
