Open a page, with one single click, without changing new tab options
As far as I know this is not incorporated in Firefox so far, but I think it could be useful.
In my case, I'd like to have the possibility of open a page (anyone, but in my case is google.com) by on single click somewhere in the browser.
(If you use the bookmarks toolbar, you are overriding the current page, not going to a new one with one click)
I know that could be done by using the new tab feature (the old way), but, the new tab is already great, so, I don't want to modify the new tab page, and I'd like to suggest to the Mozilla Firefox developers this: "One click, a new (specific) page open in new tab, a previously defined page". Similar to the home button (that goes to Mozilla Firefox Start Page)
Thanks.

Yes. That would do the job. Absolutely. Thank you.
But I'm still thinking it could be a good addition to the browser to have the possibility to (just) left click somewhere in a button and go to a predefined page that the user could customize.
Thanks again.

hi jorevale, you can also middle-click (or ctrl+click) any link or bookmark in firefox in order to open it in a new tab.

You can always create a bookmark on the Bookmarks Toolbar to open a specific page. You will need a middle-click to open the page in a new tab if you do not want to use the current tab.
The browser.newtab.url pref is no longer supported in Firefox (41+), so it is no longer possible to set the new tab page via this pref.
You can look at this extension to set the new tab page:
- New Tab Override: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-override/
You can set the new tab URL via the Options/Preferences of the extension on the about:addons page.
You can look at this extension if you use the home page as the new tab page.
- New Tab Homepage: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-homepage/
Classic Theme Restorer includes this feature as well. You find "New tab page url" in the Tabs (2) section.
You can use pages like these:
- the default new tab page with the tiles is about:newtab
- the default home page is about:home
- for a blank page use about:blank
- for Super Start use about:superstart
- use the URL of a web page
See the about:about page for available about pages.
