I am trying to move my bookmarks from Safari 5.1.10 into Firefox 44.0.2 and can't even find the options to do that listed in edit menu or bookmarks. I am using Mac OS 10.6.8 . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to export your Safari bookmarks to an HTML file. To do that, please refer to this article:

After that, you will need to import that HTML file into Firefox. For more information on doing that, please refer to this Mozilla support article:
