One day I started using my PC and I could not brows to any site, even www.google.com without getting SSL warning. If I confirm the security exception the page loads incorrectly. Technical details below

www.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

1. My date and time settings are good. 2. BIOS time is good 3. I have uninstalled every trace of Firefox down to all of the REG keys and reinstalled (no joy) 4 I have disabled the Antivirus Software 5. Sites are working on IE 6. I am using Firefox 29.0/1

I was able to find and fix the problem.

Under "View Certificate" The Issued By Common Name and Organization both said Sendori, Inc. This was clearly incorrect, as Google signs their own Certs.

I did not explicitly have Sendori Installed, but I did have some software I installed from Verizon fios which must have been utilizing Sendori. Once I remove those programs under "programs and features" the problem went away.

After subsequent research, this is a known issue and Sendori has caused this problem for others in the past.

See the screenshots for before and after.

Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

I have previously tried this, but as you can see in my original post, I completely uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. There is no cache to speak of as this is a fresh installation of Firefox.

hello, please attempt to add an exception on the bottom of the error page & inspect the certificate (see the screenshot attached for instructions):

  • which issuer information does the certificate contain?

"This Connection is Untrusted" error message appears - What to do
