I just bought my boyfriend a new iMac. We are having trouble loading many sites and platforms using the latest Firefox browser. The list is growing but includes Facebook, Meetup, Wikipedia, chess.com, nytimes.com - in all cases, rather than a login screen, we get an error message or a home page loads with no access to other pages or login area. I've cleared the cache, restarted, tried going directly to the site to log in, but nothing works. Everything is fine when using Chrome, but we prefer Firefox. Is this a conflict in the new Apple OS? Is there a fix?

I lost my Firefox on my pc. I thought i needed to download it again but when I downloaded it, it was a different version and none of my bookmarks were available. I don't know how to restore my old firefox. Help, please.

Issue Summary: My website (mass-doc.com) displays blank thumbnails in Firefox's New Tab "Recent Activity" section, while other websites (Claude.ai, Ahrefs, FamilySearch, Fox News, Xfinity) display their OG images correctly in the same section. Hi. I just switched to Windows Defender for antivirus. On Google Chrome I had to add an extension so Defender will work with Chrome to detect malicious websites.

On the eicar.org website the test virus is stopped on the Microsoft and Chrome browsers, but not with Firefox.

How do I set up Defender to work with Firefox?

My SSD boot drive crashed -- Rebuilt system (brand new SSD boot drive) and reloaded all of my data from a separate backup, however Firefox profile is gone. I have copies of the old profiles including the places files, etc. Following Mozilla's instructions I reloaded the old profiles. Firefox starts right up but *without* my bookmarks, etc. Unfortunately there was no "old Firefox data" folder saved and I could not retrieve the bookmark specific backup. Thoughts? Thanks!

I used to have the button right visible on my Toolbar and I used it often to toggle dark and light views of websites. Now it's disappeared off the toolbar. When I click the jigsaw piece button for Extensions it only shows a few, hardly all of my installed extensions. Only if i select Manage Extensions under the jigsaw will I see all my extensions, so then I can find Dark Reader and toggle its status on or off. That's an awkward multi-step process compared to just having the button showing. So how can I get the button back?

Hi I don't like to search in address bar. When i open a new tab/ page the search cursor goes into address bar. i have to click in search bar in the middle of the page in order to do my search. Can I avoid this and directly search? Regards

I have had a problem with printing of an app's full page. It will print all the pages but will not print some of the content. This has happened with a printer command and print screen. I've researched the problem through the online app's help page but was told I should switch to another browser. I didn't have this problem a couple of months back but suddenly have the problem with two different company app's. Any help would be appreciated.

We have a question about bookmarks sync, with specific characteristics, please.

We purchased another computer, a laptop, and wish to benefit from the bookmarks sync between them. However, we're affraid of a backward syncing situation. How can we make sure we prevent that?

For example, say we worked on the desktop for a week, and then need to use the laptop. What should we do when we turn the laptop on and open ff browser, if we wish to sync from the desktop to the laptop? Do we press the Sync button on the laptop? - or will that force a backward synching from the laptop to the desktop? If that's the case, than how do we sync reliabely? And let's say the day after, from the now-updated-laptop to the desktop? Is the safest way to do it by turning the sync option off, and copying the bookmarkbackup folder from one updated computer to the other?

Also, this may complicate things a bit - We use the browser bookmarks in a non traditional way. It's kind of an archive for us. The .jsonlz4 file size in bookmarkbackups folder is 37MB. We remember reading somewhere before, the server backups stores files up to 10MB. So, question is, does the large size or the bookmarks file will affect the synching process between computers?

why everytime i open i new tab it appears in my shortcuts section i only pinned like two sites and evry time i open a new page it appears in the shortcuts and theres no setting that i can turn off

Firefox fails to show short cuts in browser page and verified shortcuts is checked and can't find top sites settings. I previously had this show up every time I open Firefox.

When composing an email the cursor often disappears and has to be replaced in the correct position. It seems to only happen in Firefox. It usually happens after I hit the space bar or sometimes in the middle of a word.

I just tried Edge and the problem did not occur.

I'm getting announcements of a virus threat that purports to come from Mozilla Firefox. Usually one or all three of the attached small windows that say: 1. "Viruses Found. Click here to secure your data!. via https+++d512ucanaffc739fe48g.cgm-defender.pro" With a Dismiss button. 3. "System Warning!. Click here to remove them! via https+++d512ucanaffc739fe48g.cgm-defender.pro" With a Dismiss button. I have run full scans and offline scans with MS Defender, but these warnings still appear. Is this legit? I suspect these are a virus of some sort. Either way, how do I deal with this?

Despite having the setting "Ctrl+Tab cycles through tabs in recently used order" selected, CTRL-Tab has suddenly stopped cycling tabs in the most recently used order. Firefox behaves as if the setting is disabled. This is the third time I've experienced this issue in the past year, and every time the only solution that worked was to create a new profile. It is exhausting to get a new profile back to exactly how the old profile was, and it's something I shouldn't have to do.

Scenario: I am on Windows 11 (though this has also happened to me on Windows 10), currently using version 146.0.1 (though this has happened on previous versions). CTRL-Tab cycles in the most recently used order just fine for several months, then it suddenly doesn't—this happens in the middle of an active session, i.e., not after a restart of the browser nor the computer itself. I have four add-ons, none of which control tab cycling, nor have I added/removed any add-ons nor changed any of their settings since their initial installation many months ago.

What I've tried:

• Disabling/re-enabling the setting (even though it is already checked)
• Disabling/re-enabling the config browser.ctrlTab.sortByRecentlyUsed
• Restarting Firefox normally
• Restarting with add-ons disabled—note that the issue persists even with add-ons disabled
• Disabling the setting, then restarting Firefox, then re-enabling the setting
• Restarting the computer

It's the same thing described in this Reddit thread. What else can I try?

Still not always saving a page to my selected folder. However, if after clicking the "Star", I first select the location "Show your bookmarks", then to back to to selecting the folder into which I wish to save the page, it will then put that page into the folder of my choice. What settings do I need to have in place so that I do not have to do this double step to get the system to save a page in my selected folder? Let me know if I should just start over, uninstall Fire Fox, I have saved all my book marks and exported in the two formats, then reinstall the program. Thanks in advance for any solution. JJE
