Hi every time I click on a link the tab does not show up automatically. So I need to go back to the browser manually to land on the page linked to the link I clicked on.

Firefox is set as default browser.

I've checked the setting and "When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" is flagged. I've tried to switch to Chrome as default browser and I do not have the same issue.

Please advise on how to fix this since it is very annoying.

Thank you

Please can someone help me make this browser translate ALL THE TIME? Sadly I am not cultured and cannot read any other language other than English. I need a way to make the browser automatically translate all pages at all times to English without having to manually translate every page. Then I have to translate every individual link cause they for some reason aren't always included in the page translation. Please help me make Firefox translate to English 100% of the time or at least as close as possible to 100%.

Been using Firefox for maybe 20 years now..

But with each update it seems to be getting worse and worse. Deleting history is totally busted and when the deleted history window pops up it gets stuck suring the cleaning process, when I hit the CLEAR tab it locks up so badly I have to Apple/force quit every time just to regain control.

Now it can not load Youtube pages at all. See screen shot below as to my my Youtube looks now. 90% of the page content and data is missing. I don't have any plugins or addons and I have tried clearing the cache endlessly but that freezes the whole browser.

The browser is also getting very sluggish and slow and often entire tabs just shut themselves down randomly right in the middle of when I am filling in complex online forms so I end up losing everything.

I'm stuck in a loop of brokenness.

My workflow is such that organize my tabs into separate windows for distincty different subjects. Generally this work fine; when I shut down, they typically re-open as before.

Recently this function has stopped working. Now when I launch Firefox after a shutdown, the "Window" menu shows that the separate windows still exist, but some of them stubbornly refuse to re-open. Clicking the individual titles in the window menu has no effect, they remain unopened.

When this happened to me a few years ago, I was advised to re-start my laptop in safe mode. At that time this procedure solved the problem, but now it does nothing. Does anyone hve an alternate suggestion?

I am currently using Firefox v132.0 on a 2024 MacBoook Pro running Sonoma 14.6.

Thanks!

My Firefox started crashing a lot recently. Dozens of tab crashes within the span of just a minute or two are not uncommon. Sometimes, the entire browser itself crashes. Usually, the reason given is a vague EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_WRITE or EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ. I should note that in my case, the crashes affect most of the browsers I use, but they do not crash nearly as often as firefox does.

I've tried using it without any extensions (clean install), and with hardware acceleration disabled. I've run a RAM test also, which showed no issues. Disk check also indicated no issues. I installed windows 10 and even windows 11 on the secondary hard disk, but the issue persisted. I've also tried forcing my discrete/integrated GPU to be used solely as the display adapter, but the crashes still persisted.

When using firefox on ubuntu, the crashes do not happen, strangely. There was only one instance that I noticed the crashes on ubuntu, and that was when I set my discrete graphics card as the exclusive display adapter, from the BIOS settings.

Anyway, nothing really sticks out as the root cause. Wonder if someone is able to decipher anything from the crash reports below https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/bp-6927a483-6c22-4830-b057-1413e0241104 https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/bp-42b9b1f5-5820-4ed9-9c52-30c8e0241104 https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/bp-0b92e804-00e8-4515-9129-3b5db0241104 https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/bp-d27cdb0b-3e38-4507-925b-09ce30240914 https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/bp-fa6b0609-ae19-4a66-a81d-078040240911

The firefox container tabs no longer have the container name just the color. I've looked at the setting, but nothing is there. Hovering over tab does not help. It used to work up until a few months ago.

This is difficult when different containers only show color and not what type they are ex. Personal, Banking...etc

When I am using certain apps as webpages and I input information firefox keeps asking to update password even though the password has not been changed nor am I even in the place where passwords would be entered. Is there a way to turn this off at least for certain webpages ? Even manually and individually would be fine, maybe an option on the "update password" box to "not on this site" or something like that. Thanks,

So firefox randomly crashes. It briefly shows "Gah! Your tab has crashed" before it closes. There is no crash log, and when you open it up again it asks if I want to restore tabs and if you say yes, they all come back just as they were.

There is no particular website it crashes on, nor a particular time. Sometimes it's when I'm surfing, sometimes when it's just sitting there open. Sometimes it crashes after a minute, sometimes it crashes after 2 hours.

Yes, it does it in safe mode. Yes, I've rebooted, and reinstalled, and tried old versions. Yes, I've even reinstalled windows. Yes, I've updated all drivers and so on. I've also increased the memory allotment, and several other suggestions I found on google.

So, odd things that might help you diagnose it: when it comes back on, the volume of an in-tab player is usually, if not always, muted (not the computer, just the firefox media player - netflix, youtube, etc).

Also, I've owned this computer for 4 years and it's been a problem from the beginning; BUT I found a way to fix it. I just... can't remember what it was. Then about 6 months ago I had to send it in for repair and they wiped windows and I lost everything, since then it's crashing again.

I remember that my fix involved some fix or hack that made a *Second* set of min/max/close buttons in the top-right corner. So the normal sized ones, then a half-sized set above them. Does anyone know what I might have done to have that? Because as long as it was that way, it never crashed.

Failing that, is there a way to force firefox to create a log? Because it's not technically crashing, from it's perspective; a "tab" crashes (all tabs, actually) and then the program closes by default. But firefox itself seems to think it's not crashing so it makes no log.

I'm desperate: going to ask at a forum is worse than going to the second page of google. Thanks

Hi, there are several threads with my problem, but none of the solutions worked. Here the problem:

I use VPN for a certain database. The site requires authentication, even within vpn, which is not bad. Authentication happens through a small popup window. Each and every time I enter my credentials, Firefox springs back to this stage until my account is locked. Edge or Chrome do not have this problem. I use MS Edge under Linux, only for this one website. I already tried disabling my extension, cleaning my cookies, starting login on a freshly installed Firefox, nothing helped.

I would appreciate any hint not related to the steps already mentioned.

Thanks and regards Tibor Anca
