On my linux system, I have two users. If I log in as user A and use FF and leave a bunch of tabs open, I can view those tabs again later if I restart my computer and log in as user A, so FF remembers its history.

No Problem Scenario Logged in as A - open FF - open a bunch of tabs - CLOSE FF log out of A log in as B - do stuff log out of B log in as A - open FF; all the tabs are there

Problem Scenario Logged in as A - open FF - open a bunch of tabs - leave FF open (don't close FF before...) log out of A log in as B - do stuff log out of B log in as A - open FF; all the tabs are GONE

If I run into the Problem Scenario, I can sometimes use these steps to get the history/tabs back. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-restore-browsing-session-backup

Whether the steps work or not, the Problem Scenario is annoying. I don't know what causes this. My desktop manager is KDE.

When trying to access many popular websites with Firefox on my Fedora 43 installation, I am greeted with a security warning page with the SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER error. For most of these websites I can simply accept and continue, but HSTS-only sites will not permit this.

Affected websites include but are not limited to (based on exceptions in the certificates section of Firefox settings):

Any help in resolving this is appreciated.

When I do "save as " action for an image in the browser it opens dialogue window to save selected image. Unfortunately it displays files and folders in some random order, rather than my preferred order (sorted alphabetically by name, followed by sorting by type).

I can see no rhyme or reason to the way Firefox lists files and folders in the dialogue window, so every time I am saving an image I have to sort things by name and type before I can find what I want.

This is not permanent so I have to repeat this action every time I save an image.

How do I, please set application preferences? to make this setting permanent?

Bug: sometimes unable to drag tabs or close tabs, fixes on restart

Running Firefox 140.3.1 ESR on Debian, lately I've been experiencing a bug when I have several instances of Firefox open, and multiple tabs open in each instance. After a few minutes of browsing and opening and closing tabs, I am unable to drag tabs to rearrange them (above the address bar). The "X" that is part of the tab also doesn't work to close the tab, and clicking the main "hamburger" menu icon (three horizontal lines) does not drop down the menu. If I switch to a different instance of Firefox that is already running, sometimes the "hamburger" menu icon starts working (sometimes not), and I am able to exit and restart Firefox, which works for awhile, and then a few minutes later the same thing happens again. Interestingly, when it's not working, I am still able to "right-click" on the tab and choose "close tab" from the drop-down menu.

I've been trying to discern a pattern, but have not been able to find a way to reliably reproduce the error. It often seems to happen when I'm using Reddit or Craigslist (maybe only more noticable because I often open and close a lot of tabs on those two sites). At one point I thought it might be related to opening a new tab for a site that had previously been opened in another Firefox window (instance), but that may be a false lead, because I haven't been able to find a way to consistently trigger the bug.

Thank you for maintaining the best privacy-respecting browser in the world, an indispensable tool for me.

Firefox declare to be aware of privacy but as soon as I use Firefox to go on the internet, I immediately get connections from these 2 addresses : 34.107.243.93 34.107.221.82 in addition to the address of the site I connect to.

And sometimes, I receive so many connection attempts on ports that are not implied in the connection I have established with the initial site (conntrack) that I am obliged to disconnect the network. This does not happen with other browsers like Konqueror, Falcon, etc. I suffered an attack in this way in the past with heavy consequences. Is there a way to configure Firefox in order to suppress it ?

BTW it works in Chromium Browser, but I do not use it and have little knowledge about Chromium, I just have it on my laptop for troubleshooting.

I just had to sign in to this forum although I had never logged out. I am using Firefox 143.0.3 (64-bit) on Linux Mint 22.2. It is not the first time I am having to login again in one-by-one the sites I visit. And before anything else, I have not changed any of my privacy settings and no new profile has been created due corruption of my default one. It is not the first time this happens lately. Any chance with the Firefox update? I think I installed one quite recently.
