Something doesn’t look right. Firefox spotted a potentially serious security issue with jobs.tuvsud.com. Someone pretending to be the site could try to steal things like credit card info, passwords, or emails." And there was no option to ignore this and just go to the site??? I needed to open MS Edge instead, to be able to apply for the job???

In the Firefox browser, when I am on a page with only an image, it seems like Firefox does not allow me to open the ctrl-f field to type text.

I want to use this on image pages, because there are times when I need to retrieve information from an image, like the title of a book from the image of a book cover, and it is much more convenient to type out the text in the same window (alternatives would be something like writing out the text on a piece of paper and then typing it after leaving the tab, or opening some other program where I can type text, or trying to memorize the text). If I type out the text in the url field it usually shows a bunch of dropdown text that covers the image and keeps me from being able to see what I'm typing, which is why I usually use the ctrl f field to type.

Is there a setting I can change that would allow me to use ctrl-f on pages that only have an image?

edit: the best alternative I can find is to open web developer tools in the page and use the ctrl f field within the web developer tools window

I am referencing Step 4 for Debian Trixie and Newer.

I got over/thru those issues and when I ran apt update I found that the package was looking for Firefox was looking in a different place than where the previous steps place stuff. I am just comping back to Unix/Sun OS/Linux and 30 years working with a different OS. I hope this document will be updated after someone actually takes the steps. I will continue learning.

Firefox has been my browser of choice for well over 20 years. I have a game I play every day (from FaceBook) just this week when I try to go to it on my laptop - it says your browser does not support WebGL. it has always opened using Firefox - this is a new error message. and the computer is only 5 months old and has Windows 11 on it. I do not want to switch to Google or Edge.

Like I said - opening the app worked every day up until about a week ago. What gives?

According to the help pages, I should see Firefox Updates in the General section of the Settings tab. I found this out because Firefox is not being covered by my (independent) tracker protection programme. The fix, according to the independent tracker, involves accessing the 'Firefox Updates'

1. My left-hand sidebar contained about 150 URL links, mostly not bookmarks. I have used this constantly for the last 10 years to access desired websites. 2. After installing 149.0.2 this sidebar with all links disappeared when Firefox was restarted. 3. I tried several suggested remedies such as changing profile or settings on General or Home tabs. None of these were successful. 4. I have seen a portion of my list twice, enough to believe the entire list is stored someplace. It displayed in a box on the Firefox page, but I cannot remember how I produced this list.

How do I get back to having a sidebar full of links?

An Add-on (a theme) I've been using, Graphite Grace by compilan, has been removed with the following message:

"This add-on is blocked for violating Mozzila's policies and has been disabled".

As a user, I feel I have the right to know what policies were violated, and whether the add-on was indeed malicious as well as what data may have been compromised. Where can I get that information?

I have been using Google Chrome for years having set it up to open the same 8 Tabs and several bookmarks. What I liked about it was that no matter what PC I went to once I logged into Chrome I was given the same confiuration across several PCs including Linux which I am gradually moving to. However to date I just cannot get my other PC's whether Linux or Windows to do the same. What I want to know is that can I open Firefox on any other PC, login and and get the same configurantion automatically? .

When I open email links in Firefox, it opens my mail app (proton) but not a new email message. I’ve been in contact with proton support and they said this is only an issue with Firefox and not other browsers. This take works fine on safari and brave on my end, so it seems like a Firefox specific issue. Is this a bug or is there a setting I can fix on my end?

Ich habe die Tabs sorgfältig angelegt und wenn Sie mir diese Einstellungen nicht wieder anlegen können, dass wechsle ich meinen Browser, weil das sehr nervig ist und unangenehm! I LOVE y'alls new splitscreen feature, BUT I also noticed ya'll put the X on the tabs so that at any time even if unselected, you can close it; Is there any way to make that x appear only when selected because the main reason I used firefox in the past was because middle click was it's own dedicated way to close tabs making selected tabs literally careless and SIGNIFIGANTLY time efficient, but now that that x is on the tab at all times, it gets in the way and IT'S MAKING ME CLOSE ALL MY SPLIT TABS. Please, as a loyal firefox user, with either tell me how to remove the x's or please make it an official option to have them off. Thank you for your time.
