Ubuntu 1)Firefox 17.0 upgrade not connecting to the internet.2)URL not functioning.3)TABs not functioning. 4)Help Troubleshooting Info... Reset not enabled. 5)
Ubunto 12.04.1 with Firefox 17.0.1 with "Tab Utilities Lite" (I may unload this too). Cannot access "about:config" or other urls via Address bar... Help memu options "Firefox Help", "Troubleshooting...", "Submit Feedback", ..., "Report Web Forg...", do not work. Firefox will not initiate any Tabs, using the "+" nor "Ctrl-T".
Firefox is not connecting via DNS it seems. Curious is that IP address seems to work... as do various links off html pages (same same)... Ive added the IPv6 lines to sysctrl.conf You guessed it. No good. Looks like its time to install Chrome

What are the connection settings?
- Edit > Preferences > Advanced : Network : Connection > Settings
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Options+window+-+Advanced+panel
Note that reset is only present and enabled if you use the profile that is marked as Default=1 in the profiles.ini file.
Are you using the Firefox version from the Mozilla site or one provided via the software repositories of your Linux distribution?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
