Javascript Menu reacts differently after signing in
At this site http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Inventor/bd-p/78 before I sign in, the options menu works correctly. After signing in though, the options menu does NOT work correctly, why?
The secure site (after sign in) reports an invalid certificate.

What are the technical details of that SSL error?
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
- Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
- Click the "View…" button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer.
Can you attach a screenshot of the window that open if you click View?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

Copy/paste into a text document and import it into the servers tab of the certificate viewer. The name of the certificate is sso.autodesk.com
All relevant information should then be available.

OK, so how do I fix that? I imported the certificate you posted. But no change with the original problem :(

You didn't show the technical details that may give out what is wrong.
Did you check the date and time on your computer?
As I have already told you, the Certificate reports as Invalid. So you tell me what's wrong with it. I have already provided the certificate in question.
You have the address, certificate, Firefox technical details including what add-ons and plugins are used. What more do you need?
The date and time is correct on my computer, not that it would have any impact on the problem at hand. And this is NOT a once off occurrence as it has been occurring since version 12 or before as stated over there -->
This problem does not occur when using another browser, IE: I am able to use the javascript based 'Options' menu both before and after I log in, but not when I am using Firefox.

The sso.autodesk.com server doesn't send all required intermediate certificates (in this case from VeriSign), so if you previously haven't visited a website that has send such a certificate then you get such an untrusted error message because Firefox can't build a certificate chain the end with a root certificate.
You can inspect the certificate chain via a site like this:
You can install the missing intermediate certificate by copying the certificate content to text file and import the certificate via the Certificate Manager.

According to that site, there are no problems with the certificate. Besides, why are all the Verisign root certificates already listed in Firefox yet this site fails?
Since adding the certificate that you posted, now eBay comes up as an untrusted site when I sign in there?
And what does this have to do with the original problem with the errant menus, how is it connected?
Did you try to import the VeriSign certificates that were listed on the www.networking4all.com site?
Also check the date and time in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

You weren't paying attention if you watched the video, the date and time is clearly displayed on the desktop and yes, it's CORRECT!!
None of the reasons given at the link you provided are even remotely connected with these issues. So why did you bother posting it?

Does IE show the full certificate path? I've attached a comparison image from Firefox 13 and IE 8 on my XP system.
Regarding the menus, after watching the screen demo, it appears that when you're logged out, clicking Options sticks the menu open and when you logged in, it does not. I can't think of any obvious reason for this being an intentional difference.
I don't think I'm registered for any Lithium-powered forums at the moment, but I'll try to find a way to do a hands-on investigation.
I registered for the Autodesk forums and everything worked normally. I decided to test in a new profile and when I tried to sign in I got a certificate error. I added a temporary exception and everything worked normally. I deleted the exception, restarted Firefox, and went back to the forum. This time I didn't get a certificate error, so I'm not sure what happened the first time. Tomorrow I can test on Windows 7.
Thanks Jscher2000, I checked in IE 9 and I don't see the sso.autodesk.com certificate, but the other two certificates (root and intermediate) are listed. No certificate issues are reported when logging into that site with IE either.
The menu issue, which is the real issue, is quite strange and I'm at a loss to explain what is occurring once logged in. It works as intended in both IE and Firefox when not logged in, but as soon as I log in with Firefox, then the fun starts. IE has no problem with it.
Even without the certificate problem, I'm at a loss to explain this behaviour. There is no obvious network slow down or any other sign of a problem, yet the menu still misbehaves. To add further to the confusion, another Firefox user on that site reports that he does not have the problem.
I have just done a complete removal of Firefox from my system, that includes profiles, add-ons etc... from ALL folders and re-installed a fresh copy of 13.0. No change with the problem menus unfortunately :(
I'm about to install 13.0.1 and see if that makes a difference, although I doubt that it will.
I would certainly appreciate any information you may discover regarding this issue.
